The 18 hole golf course, designed by Manuel Pinera, encircles the 500 year old Torre del Rame, which was originally built to keep a watch out for the notorious pirates who took refuge in the tranquil waters of the Mar Menor. The majority of the course is flat, with its main difficulties being the prevailing Levante wind, and the great number of water hazards that come into play which are only evaded on 2 of the 18 holes. The course has a traditional structure and is not too lengthy. Accuracy off the tee however is a must, or you will find yourself in one of the many bunkers, desert areas and aforementioned water hazards all of which are dangerous. |
